House Wins!

Every Monday, I watch Gossip Girl, followed by House. But I usually end up blogging about Gossip Girl. Although I was glad to finally see Vanessa become interesting, and I can’t help but to wonder if Ed Westwick and Jessica Szhor’s offscreen relationship has anything to do with the new on-screen relationship (even though they are the only two who HAVEN’T hooked up), House M.D. wins the competetion in my mind for most engaging TV last night.

Of course, you know that I think House is fantastic, even though I admit that the story arc has become formulaic. The fun is in the characterization. This week, they told most of the story from the point of view of a patient with “locked-in syndrome”. Meaning the patient (played by Mos Def), could think, but not talk. It was cool to experience what might be going on in the mind from someone who has trouble communicating, while continuing to reveal the stories of the team. One of my favorite scenes was when Foreman was telling Lee about his relationship, as Lee was bored, yet unable to communicate it. Mos Def is one of my favorites anyway (even though sometimes I get distracted by the shape of his head).
