Reality TV to Boost Your Self-Esteem

We all have bad days, right? Those days where we feel fat, we wish we had more money, maybe we want another mate (or any one at all). But you can find reality TV where real people do things you would never do. Take the moment to pat yourself on the back that you…

Didn’t put the down payment on your house on your credit card
-The families on Til Debt do Us Part are not only going through financial issues, but face relationship issues because they disagree over money. The show helps them put back the pieces to their bank accounts and their relationships. Certainly if they can bounce back, so can you.

Aren’t competing with 10 or more people over one person who is narcisstic enough to be a contestant on a dating reality show
-Sometimes love sucks. Isn’t it great when your love mistakes don’t have 50 cameras on it, and filmed for posterity?

Aren’t breaking records as the heaviest contestant on a weight loss game show
-I love The Biggest Loser’s Mike. I want him to win. But as he’s stated in the show many times, he’s lost 200 lbs and is still going home as an obese person. I’m sure he’d much rather only have to lose the 10, 30, or even 50 lbs that you’ve been complaining about.

Aren’t in the cast of Jersey Shore
There’s really nothing else to say…

I don’t want to make fun of people who have gained tremendous amounts of weight, or have made poor decisions with their money or can’t find love, but watching what others have done will put your own problems in perspective. While some of them have come on tv to help others, part of that is making you feel better about your own situation.
