Cocktails and Cuties

Summertime makes me feel flirty, cute, laid-back. There’s nothing better than kicking back with some cool drinks and eye candy.

Taylor Kitsch

If all you grown-lady-Twilight fans can hover around the legal limit, then so can I (although he’s in his late 20’s in real life). Week after week, the character Tim Riggins gets me more and more involved. This season, he whispers in the ear of his landlord’s ex-husband, “You don’t give a damn about your daughter” (heroic), “and, ironically, I slept with your wife” (immature). What happens next will make you swoon if you’re into bad boys.

While watching Friday Night Lights, kick back with a Sweet Tea Mojito:

Steep 4 or 5 black tea bags, 2 cups turbinado sugar and 2 handfuls of fresh mint in 3 cups simmering water for 5 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Strain into a pitcher; add the juice of 3 limes, 1 1/2 cups light rum, 1 cup cold water and another handful of mint. Stir vigorously, crushing the mint with a wooden spoon; chill. Serve over ice with lime and more mint.

LL Cool J

If his recent appearance on The View doesn’t make you all hot and bothered, LL’s weekly appearance on NCIS: LA might do it for you. I’ve been watching this show in summer re-runs and all I keep thinking was WHY haven’t I been Tivo’ing this?! Watching this manly man requires the girliest of drinks – COSMO:

You will need:
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger cranberry flavored/infused vodka
1/2 fluid ounce cointreau
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1 1/2 fluid ounces cranberry juice
1 twist lime zest, garnish

Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with lots of ice. Shake vigorously for several seconds and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

The Entire Cast of Dark Blue

TNT brings back Dark Blue on August 4. You might get whiplash trying to catch all the cuties on camera. To be honest, the show is mediocre, but the eye candy is…yowza. I go back and forth between Logan Marshall-Green and Omari Hardwick. But Dylan McDermott ain’t nothing to sneeze at. Even Nicki Aycox will make you drool. This type of hotness deserves a Mango Frozen Dream
